The Challenges

Rise Gardens is a growing premium garden brand on Amazon that competes against value brands of lesser quality. To ensure a successful Prime Day, each aspect of the Amazon flywheel would need to be engaged to increase sales and acquire new customers during the tent-pole event.
  • Creative Content: Update content to highlight the quality of products and create a feature/benefit message that will resonate with consumers.
  • Promotional Strategy: Develop a compelling promotion strategy while remaining profitable and ensuring the best possible site merchandising during Prime Day.
  • Advertising Campaigns: A fully revamped advertising approach to target keywords, audience, and competitors based on product subtypes.

The Solutions

Hinge Commerce’s partnership with Rise Gardens began in February 2024. This allowed our teams to partner to ensure that optimized content, advertising campaign optimization, and listing/variation clean-up were completed 2-3 months before Prime Day. Amazon’s A9 search algorithm benefits from 30-90 days of data collection on updates to see the full impact of results.

Keywords & Optimized Images

Copy was SEO optimized based on a team analysis of underutilized mid-long tail keywords to drive more “in aisle” traffic to the listings.

Images were updated to highlight garden and seed pod quality and how to use their products together. Content on all listings was updated months in advance to ensure results.

Promotional Strategy

The initial strategy was to run a Prime Member Promotion (PMP) for 20-30% off as this would ensure Prime Day Deal badging in search results and other landing pages.

As we neared the event, Amazon’s backend was showing errors on some ASINs for various reasons, so the Hinge Commerce team pivoted to Sale Price for those specific items to ensure a strike-thru pricing was visible to the customer on Prime Day.

Advertising Strategy

After campaigns were restructured and optimized before Prime Day, the team ensured that Prime Day campaign bidding and KPIs were adjusted throughout July.
They focused on “lead-in,” “event days,” and “lead-out” pacing and adjustments, as well as remarketing campaigns with look-back windows that corresponded to Rise Gardens’ customer behavior.

The Results

Hinge Commerce delivered a 403% YoY increase in Ordered Sales for Rise Gardens’ 1st Prime Day with Hinge Commerce as a partner. Day 1 and Day 2 of 2024 Prime Day(s) became their best-selling Amazon days ever. Traffic grew 96% YoY due to improvements in content/organic results. Advertising-attributed sales were +1,074% YoY, driven by increased advertising campaign conversion rates as audience targeting was clearly defined and marketed against. ROAS was +628% YoY. When errors occurred, Hinge Commerce’s quick promotional type adjustments ensured event success, as Sale Price (strike-thru pricing) items were +8,582% YoY.
