Employee Spotlight: Marisa Chabot

Marisa Chabot was recently promoted to be a Senior Copywriter at HINGE COMMERCE.  Copywriting is a critical capability because great use of keywords drives organic search, and great descriptive content drives conversion.  Marisa has 13 years of digital commerce experience and she excels at all kinds of e-commerce copywriting.  However, her love of cooking and baking particularly shines in her food listings!

Congratulations on your promotion, Marisa!

Q.  Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

A. I was born and raised in Cincinnati Ohio.  My husband is from Brussels, Belgium so I’ve traveled fairly extensively throughout Europe.  Before COVID hit, we had been planning a trip to the Swiss Alps this summer and Scotland for my 40th birthday this October (both trips have been postponed).  We have a 14-year old daughter who is going into 9th grade this year.

 Q. What is your favorite part of working at HINGE COMMERCE?

A. I really like everyone that I work with.  HINGE is special in that I sincerely like the entire team, and I really respect our leadership (Fred and Dean).  We have been working from home since March, so I miss interacting with my team members face-to-face.  However, I have to admit that I am a homebody, so working from home has not been that hard for me.

Q. What is your hidden talent?

A. I really like baking and cooking.  I’m making scones for breakfast, in fact.  I’ve daydreamed about the idea of opening a burger joint in Belgium, because in Europe, it’s hard to find a decent cheeseburger. (Of course, I’d do this on the side, while copywriting for HINGE!)

Q. What TV shows are you enjoying during quarantine?

A. At the beginning of quarantine our family watched a lot of Law & Order reruns – because my daughter is obsessed with the show. I just finished Outlander, which I loved and can’t wait for the next season. I am presently watching Dark on Netflix, it’s a German series that’s a mix of supernatural, drama, thriller, and mystery. Much like the title suggests, it is very dark, but I highly recommend it!
